I took fancy snapping this photo of a local while we were waiting for our ride to get us back to to the town of my sister-in-law (in Mountain Province). We were there en route to Sagada in the summer of May 2009.
I noticed how busy people were in that mountain area. Some are getting up too early in the morning to hike off to their vegetable farms along mountain cliffs while the men are riding off to get to a river beside a mountain, too. Where their occupation is to pan out golds (the size of very small pebbles). I did asked Mr. Funny man how much golds they have found each day. “Not so much”, he snapped back. I wonder if there’s silver bars being mined out there, too. Of course, gold’s a more pricier metal than silver. But, since golds are nearly depleted, there must have been other precious metals out in river beds that can be mined, too. It will surely brings more income to the locals out there in the Mountain province town.
