fun at “simple life”

Twas the day the eldest daughter turned 19. The day after Christmas and I am so bogged down with the previous day’s celebration, I had to asked for my “whole gang” to please let it be my “freeeeedom:)

Nay. The daughter had other things in mind. Sadist. She agreed to have celebrated her day sans “biggie” preparation. Oh, okay. I do have to be thankful for that? Instead, she asked that we go out and commanded, “Just cook spaghetti, mom, it’ll do okay.”

So, off we go to the nearby water resort. Er, not the one you’ll find a la Splash Island. But, good enough to keep us WET! And, so were these kids. Who gamely posed before going through that ginormous slide.

There we are atop the twin towers that has earmarked this resort’s name all over town in a span of two (2) years. “Simple Life”. It is. Simple and tile-less swimming floors, just cemented floors and painted with either green or blues to mimic the color of that inviting waters. And, who wouldn’t get attracted coming here over and over. Fresh water pumped out of diesel-generated water pumps, pumping out as many as five swimming pools. The space is huge enough to accommodate townsfolk who comes here to take a fresh dip. The place have cottages that can be rented for a hundred pesos. With entrance fees as low as thirty pesos for adults, and twenty pesos for the kids. Don’t raise your eyebrows. Let me say, we are in a rural town, where living cost is yes, “simple”, and cheap. But, at least, the small fee could pay for big happiness for the clients swarming the place.

What joy can it equate for such amenities?

One of the few slides these kids have tried.

And off they slope down to the tile-less yet the bluest of water. Water pumps were continuously feeding off the different pools. To the delight of these kiddos.

And, here were the boys, trying to set out a game…

Wherefore, Jeric has to do some planking when he couldn’t find the diving board. Funny e :)

Finally, here’s the daughter, who prefers to wear long sleeve to avoid the scorching rays of the sun. And, yet, getting ready for a splash.

While some, including bf’s, gf’s (hayzzz) opted to stay in this native cottage.

Count me in, too. For, I, who was not so blessed with a fair skin has got to go hiding from the sun and yet, enjoy the foodies. The “spaghetti-only” that never was. Thanks to the hubs and Jay-R in helping me out with cooking prep.

And, lastly, I may have missed the fun wading in the water, but, I didn’t missed to bring my umbrella so I wouldn’t missed any chance of photo ops :) Missed-a-miss :)

Credits to the hubs for shooting the photo below. Ain’t that a pretty, pretty sky?

Simple birthday. Simple resort. Simple Life.

Gargantuan of fun!

Thanks be to Kaine for bringing in her Canon EOS :)
