Lucban Church

This church is the home of San Isidro de Labrador in Lucban, Quezon Province. A small farming town at the foot of Mount Banahaw. Tourists and locals alike flock to this town to witness the colorful festivities that they call Pahiyas Festival. An extravagant celebration culminating on the 15th of May each year. Farmers display their bountiful harvest in front of every houses. This is a way of thanksgiving for the harvest each year. A colorful chandelier of ground rice (kiping) artistically formed into different flowers adorned every houses that line the procession route.

Never missed to visit their church. Visitors will be enchanted by the old-world charisma of its facade and its interior. We light up a candle and wished that the town and its people will be blessed each year that passes by. Going to Lucban experiencing its many colors, and the lambanog, the colorful native hats and its hospitable people, we’re hoping to get back there next year :)

I missed how we celebrate our fiesta’s and other holidays in the Philippines. The food and the merry making as well as the meeting of long lost relatives or friends is what I also missed. Na homesick ako sa picture na to. ^_^ Happy Monday!
