long and rainy weekend

Been raining here all night and I can see no sign that the torrents will ever rest today. According to the weather bureau, typhoon Mina already made a landfall this morning at Cagayan province trekking the path of north, north east route. With the heavy rains we’re receiving since last night, our town (Nueva Ecija) is in signal number 2.

Ouch. We can not go out. We have to wait for the sky to get clearer. Anyway, it will be a long weekend as Malacanang declares August 29th as Heroes Day Celebration and August 30th as the end of Ramadan. We still have plenty of time for malling. 

In the meantime, my kitchen’s busy preparing meals and desserts for the whole family to enjoy the long holiday. Starting with veggies. Though, the little miss did make a funny face when I did tell her what’s our lunch for today…

Ginisang gulay. “I don’t want to eat,” said she.

Oh, she will. Aside from the sauteed veggies (sauteed in shrimp paste), I will fry her favorite tilapia. She then gives me a sheepish smile
