One fine day, we have gone onto some nature tripping and getting wet at a resort.

Going to the town of Gabaldon (from Bongabon) is a mere 30-minute drive. Road was cemented years ago by the previous Congressman. Driving to this countryside is truly interesting. Picturesque mountain views, endless farms, little forests, although some parts of the mountains were treeless because of “kaingineros”. But, still…the sights were pretty…seems like raining here on this part of the mountain, where clouds seemed kissing the greens in the early morning…which prevented half of the peak out of sight.

Only to find cottony clouds under the BLUEST OF THE SKIES on the other side of the road mountain.

Reaching the town of Gabaldon after smooth thirty minutes driving to buy some live fish and perhaps fresh squids or octopus (which were bought from the next town of Dingalan, Aurora province).

I get the chance to have a quick rendezvous with a friend who lived in this town. She works at NEUST Gabaldon, a vast agricultural school, formerly Sabani Estate Agricultural College (SEAC), a state owned-university. Located just a few feet away from the Gabaldon Municipal Hall.

Route going to the town proper. Such a scenic and serene town which lies on a hill , just at the foot of Sierra Madre Mountains. The municipal hall was overlooking the mountains which is covered by fog on a bright sunny morning.

The resort was at Barangay Pantoc, (few meters after the public cemetery). Coming to this resort (Leivy Lance Resort) , as with some other resorts in nearby towns, there’s nothing “really” special about the place….spacious and clean, with 5 swimming pools, a play area for the kids to enjoy, nipa hut cottages, a barbecue area, a function hall, and rooms available for those wanting to spend the night.

crystal BLUE waters were too tempting...

my lad enjoying his morning dip...brrrrr!

What might set it “special” from other resorts aside from the extra cleanliness, and the clean shower rooms…the place sits overlooking hills, mountains, farms…which makes the place more inviting.

with five pools, the resort is showing signs of adding more, pool and cottages and private rooms...

To get to Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija:

From Manila, there are airconditioned buses going to Cabanatuan City everyday. And, if you’re lucky, you can catch the 3pm Baliuag bus at the Grace Park Station (2nd Avenue, Caloocan City) going straight to the town of Gabaldon. Travel time is 4 hours only. Bus fare is less than P250.

If commuting on a private vehicle, once you reached Cabanatuan City, turn right when you reach N.E Crossing at Maharlika Hi-way and Del Pilar Street. Travel time from Cabanatuan to Gabaldon is one hour or a little more.

This is also the route taken on going to Dingalan beaches at Aurora province.

Leivy Lance Resort is owned by Mr. & Mrs. Leandro Muncal. Contact # 0908 888 8713.
