Howdy everyone? Busy weekend for us here in the province. Heat is slowly inching up my sleeve even in the early morning. Caught up this horse drawn carriage full of native crafts around pass seven in the morning yesterday. We were busy preparing and cooking for my bro’s 39th birthday and his daughter’s Christening. Double celebration. Thus, major major preparation. You know how it is to celebrate occasions in the province. With long preparation, which begin by butchering pig and a goat for kalderetang kambing and papaitan. That was on Saturday. Imagine my tiredness and I have to do some of the menu, thus, sleeping up late on Saturday and waking up early the very next day. We were busy wrapping up lumpiyang shanghai and readying the vegetables for gising-gising when out of nowhere this caught us;
Truly a Filipino culture, I rarely see a kalesa now. Imagine my joy when this driver suddenly makes a wrong turn at our small street road, thinking it’s the turn leading to the town proper. And, before he could turn his carriage off the main road, what should it be but a photo ops:)
See, even in my blue apron, I had to pose beside the horse, too careful for my moves lest I might irritate him to give me a kick in the butt ^_^. And, before he could know that I didn’t even bought even a small basket off the many native products he carries behind his back. It ain’t such a morning for buying baskets, bamboo products such as mirrors, hammock, and more…I am too pre-occupied with the menus I have to cook that day:)
I am posting yesterday’s event and foodies at my Sibuyas Republic blog. Hope you could visit me there, too.
