Bongabon Fiesta

It was our town’s Fiesta today. The town proper were teeming with people when I went to market this morning. The road fronting the Bongabon Public market going to the town’s catholic cathedral were closed to traffic. I thought there was a band parade, but, I was surprised to see throngs of shops. And, throngs of shoppers, too.

Business a-booming in our town because price of local produce, of what our town is famous for, the Red and White onion was surprisingly high, to the delight of every farmer. Today’s red onion price per kilo is pegged at 40 pesos and still going up now that harvest is at the very end.

Too bad, I had missed out Fiesta activities this year as I had to travel “urgently” up north last Friday. Fiesta activities started out last Thursday with band competition, street dancing, drum and lyre competition and so on. Last night was the coronation of the town’s beautiful muses. I had missed out all the weekend’s activities. (Sighs!)

The youngest kid had tantrums because we had missed out the fireworks display earlier.

Our first and only visit to the town plaza was last Wednesday and we made these two kids enjoy the few rides that we thought were safer than the others.

Like this dino ride…which these cousins would never wanted to bid goodbye

And this horsey ride, too…

Glad that they never liked to ride on this Ferris Wheel…I DON’T, too…

And, they were too afraid to ride this choo-choo train. They were just content at photo ops here:) My luck, too…I wouldn’t wanted to see “fake” ghosts and zombies:)

And, before going home…they had to gobble up some ice cream even on a freakin’ windy night!

HAPPY FIESTA, MY BONGABON!
