Suddenly, found these photos. Thought they’re gone forever. Luckily, i found them in my friend’s fb album.
These were in 2008, when I was studying a care-giving course. A program/study, “supposedly” funded/subsidized by our local government. But, in the end, fees, amounting to 20k pesos plus (for tuition fees, trainings, and more trainings) were collected.
At first, I was hesitant to enroll in the said program. Told myself, care-giving was totally different from my collegiate course which is accountancy. Thought that business and science were totally different fields. But, after attending the orientation at the municipal hall, and, deliberating that the venue of the study will be at our Barangay’s elementary school, except when on-hands training will be required, then venue will be at the city. Which, everybody agreed.
And, so, after six months of study cum training, I earned a diploma certificate…which, unfortunately, up to now, I hadn’t practiced. Too bad.
Different learning area it was, it became a challenged for me. Learning on basic anatomy, on simple health care…new horizons, if I may say so.
But, most memorable were the trainings we had attended. We had seminars like Basic Life Support and the pictures below was the training conducted by Philippine National Red Cross…learned so many things here…that, even, you or me, can provide help for those in need of emergency assistance.
Here, on our last training day, we need to apply in “reality” what have we learned from our trainors…

that's me, on our way to the site area. complete with medical gears...sorry, my scrubs were soak in "blood"the previous day ^_^

Scenario: after creating a triage and tagging the patients, i was tasked to help this "victim" with a broken leg, and a knife stab in his neck...double ouch, you may say ^_^

splints were placed and more bandages to suppress the bleeding...we were being time tested here. so, everybody is in serious mode ^_^

and, here, all the "victims" were given the emergency care and were awaiting for the "supposed" EMTs to arrived.
er, the “victims” and “the blood” were all HOAX!!! We’re in training, did I not warned you?
My Nostalgia entry for this week…

Oh that was fun and interesting. I remembered when i join the rescue team in the college. The red cross also was our trainers. It was a great experience and fun…happy Nostalgia.
Wahhhh kala ko may ambush vistims na tintreat hehhehe.. Sa tingin mo ate, if you will encounter a scene like that for real, di ka nenerbyusin?
sis.. alam mu kahit di mu siya na practice.. time will come it will just come out of you in situations uncalled for… sige lang…. thanks for dropping by my nostalgia post.
Actual training is the best learning to experience. You can learn some techniques how your patient will survive during accident or any illness they have. visiting here for nostalgia..
Kung di binasa ng maayos, mapagkakamalan talagang totoo by just looking at the photos. Sure it added more learnings eventhough it was different from your field of study.
Thanks for sharing this for Nostalgia.
